2022 Resident Scholars

NC Radiological Society announces 2022 Radiology Resident Scholars

Tyler Lacy, MD (Duke)
Marie Vogel, MD (UNC)
Michael Hood, MD (Wake Forest)

About the Scholars:

Tyler Lacy, MD — Duke

Tyler Lacy

Dr Tyler Lacy hails from his hometown in northern Arizona and is a three-fer Duke learner. Dr Lacy is a second year radiology resident at Duke University, after having attended Duke University School of Medicine and Duke University as an undergraduate student.

He lists technology and racquetball as favorites – and teaching! He is a recipient of the the Appleseed Resident Teaching Award as one of the best resident educators who have shown a genuine passion for mentoring the next generation of physicians. The awards are voted on annually by the second-year medical school class to fewer than ten percent of residents in the core clinical rotations.

Marie Vogel, MD — UNC

Marie VogelDr Marie Vogel is a second year radiology resident at University of North Carolina / UNC Health. She attended UNC School of Medicine and University of Tennessee as an undergraduate student.

She too is an excellent teacher! She participates in the RADY resident symposia for medical students nearly every block and is one of two fantastic residents who serve as advisors for the medical school’s 44-student Ultrasound Scholarly Concentration program, providing valuable teaching and feedback for the student learners.

Michael Hood, MD — Wake Forest

Michael Hood

Dr Michael Hood is a third year radiology resident at Wake Forest / Wake Health. He attended University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed his internship in internal medicine at Spartanburg Medical Center.

He has been actively involved in the ACR since beginning residency, particularly in the past two years and comes with the very highest endorsement of his program diector Dr. Carol Geer.

To all of us Dr Geer writes: “Thank you to the NC ACR for providing this very valuable opportunity for residents. We appreciate the NC ACR’s commitment to helping residents get more involved and connected in this important organization.
